Hello Trémocliffe Team!
Just a quick word to say thanks very much once again for your wonderful welcome last week. We all had a fantastic time, and we are really looking forward to seeing you all when you come over here in October!
All the best,
Monsieur Bellars and the Ballard Bunch :-)
The 2018 foreign languages week was opened with the "English day". Students and teachers were invited to come to school wearing a uniform (well, at least, they were invited to wear a white top and black trousers/skirts).
Year 7 had to attend an Assembly. It was a great success!
During the language week, we worked on English speaking countries. We made posters on New Zealand, South Africa, the USA, Ireland, Australia and Canada.
Our posters were part of a "Languages Exhibition" visible on the schoolyard. Year 7 students had to answer a quiz on this work.
It was very interesting to discover things about countries we didn't know much about before.
Let’s meet Fan, a Chinese student
During the Foreign Languages Week, we met fan, a Chinese student who lives in Paris.
He came to tell us about his school career. He first came to France to learn French, in Nantes. Then, he returned to China and started working as a journalist. But he did not like it. He came back to France to study French as a foreign langage, to become a teacher.
He would also like to open a restaurant with his girlfriend.
He also taught us to speak some Chinese. We had a great time, Fan was very interesting, and very funny.
TREMOCOLOR
Tremocolor is a 12-minute race organised by our school. This race took palce on April 12th, at the stadium next to our school. The tremocolor was played by each class which forms a team. Each class had a different color. Pupils had to be dressed in their class colour.
In the morning from 8:00 am to 10:00 am it was the Year 8 and Year 10 who participated and from 10:00 am to 12 :00 am it was the Year 7 and Year 9.
There was a ranking for the best colored class and a ranking for the team that crossed the highest number of « doors ». Each door was separated from 200m.
The Tremocolor was a great time at school, the atmosphere was good and so was the weather !!! ♥
We are a group of 12 students from "Tremolières" secondary school, in Cholet, western France. We are in year 9. WE LOVE ENGLISH!!!!!!! We are part of our school exchange with Highcliffe school and Ballard school, in southern England.
This exchange has been going on between our schools for 16 years!
In order to get ready for this exchange, we have a weekly class called "Atelier Highcliffe", during which we will try to get to know our English partners.
We will publish our different projects on this blog. Our partners are welcome to publish their work too, and to add any comments!
We hope you'll enjoy reading us!
We wrote our Chinese portrait to get to know each other as a group, and also for our future English partner to get to know us.
It is in a shape of a book that you can fold or unfold, and it is very long! Maybe we'll send them to our partners.

On Monday, December 18th, we had a Christmas party to celebrate Christmas break. Students brought very nice cake, biscuits and sweets. We had a very relaxed and friendly time.
We also learnt about a very English tradition: Christmas jumper day! We tought it was a very funny way to raise money!
We also listened to a Christmas song: "Santa's coming for us" by Sia. We had to fill in the blanks in the lyrics, but it was a bit difficult!
Anyway, we had fun!
The whole Tremocliffe team wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
After Christmas break, it was time to look back on 2017, and what we did during that year, what we liked, what we didn't like, and what we will remember about it.
Here are Constance and Axel work on this topic.
